Meeting Digest 7-3-19
The meeting was called to order by Lion President George Salet. The pledge was led by Lion Sharon Eberhardt and invocation offered by Lion Zenaida Lawhon. Introductions were handled by Lion Tail Twister Bob Fenech who was fining for lack of pins and badges. 9 Lions were present.
Independence Day was on everyone’s mind, especially Lion Sharon Eberhardt, who brought in patriotic cupcakes, napkins and flags. Also jumping on the bandwagon were Lions Bob and Zenaida Lawhon who brought flag pennants and, of course, apple pie. Everyone present enjoyed!
Topics of conversation during the regular meeting were:
  • Lions Clubs sizes and clubs closing down
  • Food trucks and their locations
  • The Irish Cultural Center
  • Real estate
  • plus a couple more
Correspondence
Thank you notes, for our recent donations, were received from Boys & Girls Clubs, Clinic by the Bay, Balboa Alumni Association, City of Hope, North Peninsula Food Bank, and #hersmile Foundation.
4-C4 Cabinet Installation
Our own Lion Sharon Eberhardt has, once again, received the nod to be a Zone Chairman. For now, seems she’ll be assigned to clubs in the south bay.
The District 4-C4 Installation will take place on Friday, July, 26th. It will be held at the Marriott Hotel San Francisco Airport. $85 per person, Rsvp by July 3rd. There may still be time to attend; contact Lion Joe Farrah to attend.
For now, Lions Joe Farrah and Sharon Eberhardt will be representing our club.
Installation of Officers
Nothing to report yet, but the word is it will be kept simple.

From NPFPDCDC: it might be a bit long-winded, but it stands for North Peninsula Food Pantry & Dining Center of Daly City; they do a lot of good work.
From various sources: Several emails about the International Convention - everything from money exchange rates to schedules of events.
From Lion Ken Ibarra: Bowing to a request from International, he has withdrawn his name as candidate for International Director. He will be running as the endorsed candidate for District 4-C4 in 2019-20.
From DG Lydia Taylor-Bellinger: Thank you, District 4-C4, for a great year of showing what teamwork and unity can and did accomplish with a fantastic team of Lions.
From International: A request from a senior looking for hearing aids was forwarded from International’s website. Sent to the screening committee.
